Dear Visitor,
In law a man is guilty when he violates the rights of others. In ethics he is guilty if he only thinks of doing so.
Immanuel Kant

How does Tax Depreciation benefit property investors? Many investors are unaware that they can be claiming property allowances, thus losing thousands of dollars which are rightfully theirs? If you purchase an investment property specifically to earn income, then under current legislation you are allowed to claim deductions against your taxable income. And who doesn't welcome a tax break? There are two types of rental property costs to depreciate. The first is for wear and tear of fixtures such as floor coverings, blinds and curtains, hot water systems, air conditioners and so on. These depreciate at varying rates from 5%-100%. The second type relates to capital works, i.e. building and structural improvements which may qualify for Capital Allowances, depreciating at 2.5% or 4%. The simple fact is that most investment properties can claim some form of taxation allowance no matter how old. If you are interested in knowing more about this service, contact Tony Wall at Residep who will physically inspect your property, record and itemise every claimable component, apply the appropriate depreciation rate, analyse, calculate and summarise into a 10-12 page Tax Depreciation Schedule ready for you to pass on to your Accountant. Mistaken Identity?I was lined up at the checkout counter at Coles supermarket recently when the lady in front of me had forgotten her credit card. She wrote out a cheque for her purchases and was waiting for the shop assistant to complete the transaction. The shop assistant, a fine looking young man named Richard, promptly cited 'company policy' then asked the lady for proof of identity. The lady looked flabbergasted and totally astounded. Eventually she managed to squeak, 'But Richard, I'm your mother.' Bedroom ColoursBy Chris Brazel, Australia's Leading Feng Shui, Colour and Numerology Specialist. Colour is one of the most amazing ways to create a change of energy in your life and in your home. The bedroom is one of most important rooms in the home. This is the area that represents your identity. It is important that the bedroom is a true reflection of who you are and what you want to attract in life. You will be drawn to place colours in the bedroom to reflect how you are feeling about life. I always teach my clients that you are a product of your environment, you create your environment subconsciously and your subconscious is a reflection of your moods, attitude and feelings. When a person feels lost, and not sure which direction to take, they will be drawn to lots of beige or brown. The more they feel bogged down, the more brown they will be drawn to. When a person feels like they are drowning either emotionally or financially they will be drawn to lots of blue. Too much blue would be all the walls, quilt and bed linen in shades of blue. A total white bedroom can give a cold feeling - white being the metalelement. Often we see white bedrooms in the latest fashion magazines, but in reality white tones could lead to lack of communication between you and your partner. Never have a black bedroom. Black is a heavy colour and will definitely give you a depressed feeling after time. People are drawn to black when there are doors they need to close or when they are feeling heavy and depressed. The colour black takes from you, and gives you nothing in return. People born on the 2nd, 11th or 20th of any month should definitely never have black in the bedroom as ths is the worse colour for them personally. Want to know more? Click here to contact Chris. Missionaries of Charity - Fortitude ValleySister Oliva and the Sisters from the Missionaries of Charity in Fortitude Valley, quietly go about their business of providing food, shelter and other basic needs, for those experiencing hardship in the Valley. Up until recently, the Sisters provided lunch at their soup kitchen for more than 100 people every Saturday. The limited cooking facilities make this quite a task and the Sisters regularly spend all day Friday cooking in preparation. The soup kitchen has ceased operation temporarily as the building is too small to cope with the demand with many of those who attend having to eat outside in the backyard. Plans are currently underway to raise the building to add a new ground level. This will enable the Sisters to provide short term accommodation for women in crisis, increase the cooking facilities, and enable the homeless to sit at a table inside whilst they eat. The Sisters also provide support for migrant families without an income and children from broken marriages. Sister Oliva said, "We receive great support from the people of Brisbane, with donations of food and clothing, as well as money." If you wish to support this cause, don't hesitate to contact Q Solicitors and we will advise how you can assist.
